Aunt Molly's Ground Cherry

Open Pollinated. 70 days. Although Ground Cherries are native to Central America, this variety was first recorded in America in 1837 in Pennsylvania. It is a Polish variety prized for its great flavor. The small fruits are wrapped in a papery husk that turns brown when ripe and drop to the ground. Easy to grow, abundant, and tastes like a tropical fruit that can be grown in the temperate regions.
