C. maxima 90 days This Pacific Northwest heirloom variety probably originated from local Native American agriculture. It is an all around attractive variety. The vines are hardy and stayed healthy here on the farm until the first frost of the fall. The large round fruits are squat with a slight turban at the blossom end. The rinds are thin, but cure very hard, and are a beautiful pinkish / pale-orange color. The orange flesh is fine textured, very tasty and excellent cooked, eaten as raw slivers, or baked. It also makes excellent pies. Stores very well.
